On Friday, May 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the DTS campus will be open for graduates, their families, and friends who may wish to visit the seminary. This is an opportunity to visit the DTS-Dallas campus, since campus will be closed Saturday, May 11, the day of Commencement.
The graduating class will assemble in the gymnasium before the service. Graduates should plan to arrive and be in the Scofield gym no later than 9:00 a.m. for instructions and line-up.
A come-and-go, casual dinner will be served by the faculty and staff to all graduating students with their families and friends on the DTS campus. The BBQ is designed to give graduates and their families an opportunity to visit with one another and meet the faculty and staff. Games, a petting zoo, pony rides, and other activities will be available for children.
Dress is informal and western attire is encouraged. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets to sit on the lawn. Limited table seating will also be provided under the “big top.”
Anyone (including children) who takes a plate will need a ticket. Tickets can be purchased through the DTS Bookstore.
Prestonwood has ample seating for family and friends who wish to attend. Graduates should assemble in the choir loft in the worship center no later than 8:15 a.m. The graduating class will receive instructions for the ceremony and a group photo of all graduating students will be taken. Regalia is not worn for the photo. The line-of-march will form promptly at 9:20 a.m.

Registration for child care is now closed.
Translation services will be provided for the commencement ceremony (at Prestonwood Baptist Church) in Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin only). Please see instructions below.
We have a limited number of channels available for attendees needing Mandarin translation for the Commencement Ceremony. Priority will be given to the graduates and their family members. If you need translation in Mandarin, please contact chineseregistration@dts.edu BEFORE April 30th. After receiving confirmation that you have reserved a translation receiver, please arrive at the Welcome Center no later than 9:00am to check out the receiver. A driver’s license and/or credit card are required as deposit.

Located less than a quarter of a mile from the heart of campus, the brand new Element Hotel (Downtown East) is a convenient place to stay for friends and family of graduates.
For a special DTS discounted rate:
Each year, the graduating class collects money for a physical gift for the benefit of future students at DTS. This year, the graduating class has voted to raise funds for a new pulpit for the new chapel. If feasible, wood from the old Chafer Chapel will be used in the construction of the new pulpit as a tribute to the legacy of preachers and teachers who have spoken in Chafer Chapel. Any surplus monies will be put towards the purchase of new benches around the Jesus statue in the courtyard facing Live Oak Street. This area continues to be a quiet corner for prayer and reflection on campus.
